While you're answering calls outside the UK you can set up your business numbers to play UK Ringtone while abroad. Your customer doesn't have to find out that their call is being answered outside the UK (unless you choose to tell them). They'll hear the same ringtone as if they were calling a number in their town.
If you have a TTNC number which callers ring, the process is as simple as enabling any Bolt-On. All you need to do is navigate to the number edit screen and enable the UK Ringtone.
If you wish for callers to your non-TTNC mobile to hear the UK Ringtone, the process is slightly more complicated involving a little bit of configuration of your mobile.
Note - Virgin Mobile currently does not support either way of call forwarding.
Firstly you would need a TTNC number with the UK Ringtone enabled, see below for how to enable/disable the Bolt-On.
The forwarding destination of the TTNC cannot be the mobile you have set to divert as this will create a cyclical diversion and you will never receive calls.
- Then you need to set up call divert on your mobile this can be done on your handset or via your provider (usually via entering a series of digits and making a 'call')
Three requires a call to their customer services.
Virgin Mobile does not support either way of call forwarding.
EE, Vodafone, O2 and GiffGaff all require a 'call' being made by opening the phone keypad and typing: **21*NUMBER# - where NUMBER is the TTNC number - and pressing call.
To cancel the divert type ##21# and press call.
Once these steps have been completed any call to your mobile will automatically divert to your TTNC number, playing the UK Ringtone, and forwarding to your chosen destination.
You can Activate/Disable the service whenever you choose in myTTNC. Just follow these simple steps:
- Log in by either clicking on the login button in the header or by going to www.myttnc.co.uk
- Click on the
Phone Numberstab in the left hand menu.
- Click on the
Editbutton on the number you want to setup UK Ringtone.
- If you have Time Based Forwarding or Virtual Receptionist (Bolt Ons) set up: UK Ringtone is classed as a destination service so will not show in the initial list of services. To set up UK Ringtone, either go to a Time Plan under Time Based Forwarding or an option under Virtual Receptionist and then select UK Ringtone from the list of services.
Otherwise: Select UK Ringtone from the list of services.
- Simply make sure the ON/OFF switch is set to
ONto ensure that your callers always hear a UK Ringtone, no matter where in the world you are.
