Rules for using 0300 Numbers
0300 numbers are an Ofcom regulated number range for the sole use of Public Bodies, Charities and Non-Profit Organisation.
0300 numbers can only be ordered and used by public sector bodies and non-profit organisations such as registered charities.
Ofcom considers that the bodies eligible to use 0300 numbers should meet at least one of two basic criteria:
-
They should appear on one of the lists of appropriate bodies on Ofcom’s Guidance on bodies eligible to use 030 telephone numbers.
-
They should fulfil any of the other criteria indicated by Ofcom in the Guidance on bodies eligible to use 030 telephone numbers.
Only for Charities, Non-Profit and Public Bodies.
While it is possible to purchase an 0300 as an individual or business, the account/number validation which takes place shortly after sign up will flag the inconsistency, and you will not be able to use the number.
