Call Whisper
Our Call Whisper service plays a short voice message to you (the receiver of the call) before connecting the caller with you. This will help you quickly identify whether you're receiving a business or personal call so you can answer with the appropriate company greeting.
To use this functionality, you will need to purchase this Bolt On or a package featuring this Bolt On - For more information, see our step-by-step Purchasing services guide.
Default Call Whisper Messages
We provide a male and a female default Call Whisper message, each saying "Business Call".

Setting up your Call Whisper
Follow these simple steps to set up Call Whisper:
- Log into myTTNC by going to www.myttnc.co.uk
- Click on
Phone Numbers
in the left-hand menu.
- Click on the three dots next to the number you wish to edit, then click on
Edit Forwarding
Time Based Forwarding or Virtual Receptionist set up?
Call Whisper will not show in the initial list of services. To set up Call Whisper, go to:
- a Time Plan under Time Based Forwarding; or
- an option under Virtual Receptionist.

Turn Call Whisper on, with the
On/Off
switch. -
Use the drop-down to select a recording to play. You can only see 10 rows in the list. If your recording isn't shown, begin typing the file name, and matching files will be displayed.
You can listen to the recording using the audio player on the page.
You can upload a recording to use as your Call Whisper by clicking `Upload New Recording' or following our guide to Upload recordings
You should keep the length of a Call Whisper recording short as your caller will continue to hear a ringing tone until the Whisper has finished.

Apply
to save your settings.
Next time you receive a call to your TTNC number, you will hear the recording play when you answer.
Disabling your Call Whisper
Follow these simple steps to disable Call Whisper:
- Log into myTTNC by going to www.myttnc.co.uk
- Click on
Phone Numbers
in the left-hand menu.
- Click on the three dots next to the number you wish to edit, then click on
Edit Forwarding
Time Based Forwarding or Virtual Receptionist set up?
Call Whisper will not show in the initial list of services. To remove Call Whisper, go to:
- a Time Plan under Time Based Forwarding; or
- an option under Virtual Receptionist.
- Turn Call Whisper off, with the
On/Off
switch.
- Click
Apply
to save your settings.
Next time you receive a call to your TTNC number, you will not hear the recording play when you answer.
