Send SMS

Most of us are permanently attached to our mobile phones, so taking that into consideration, being able to reach out to your staff, clients or customers by SMS text must be an effective communication tool.

Send to a single contact

You can send an SMS message to just a single contact using the steps below:

  1. Log in by either clicking on the login button in the header or by going to www.myttnc.co.uk
  2. Click on the SMS Services tab in the left hand menu.
  3. Select Send SMS.

  1. When sending to a single contact you can either send to an existing contact or create a new contact:
    • Choose an existing contact: Use the drop down to select a previously saved contact. Contacts can be added either in the Manage SMS groups section or by entering a new contact and saving using the instructions below.
    • New contact: To send to a new contact enter a name for them in the create new contact name input box. Then enter their mobile number in the new contact number input box. If you'd like to save this contact for later, you can add it to an existing group using the drop down.

  1. Once you have selected or created a contact, you need to select one of your virtual numbers or registered mobiles from the Send from drop down. This is the number that is displayed when your contact receives the SMS message.

  1. Now it's time to type your message into the Enter message input area. For each message you send, there is a 160 character limit. Please refer to the character counter below the input area.

  2. If you want to enable your contacts to unsubscribe from future SMS communication, click on the 'Add opt out text' link. Please note that this text is 32 characters so plan your SMS message carefully around this.

  3. We've also included the option to schedule the sending of the message. By default it will display the current time to send the message straight away, but you can change the time and date fields to send the message at a later date to suit you.

  1. Once you've finished setting everything up, click Send message to send your SMS.


Send to group

Before you can send an SMS message to a group, you will first need to set up a group.

Once a group has been created, you can send an SMS message to the entire group using the steps below:

  2. Click on the SMS Services tab in the left hand menu.
  3. Select Send SMS.

  1. Change the tab at the top of the page so Send to group is highlighted.

  1. Select a group using the drop down.
